hey Smiths. . .I kinda let that "best lookin" boy comment slide by. . .but I got two boys who are right there at the top of the list!

Tonight was so cool...the grillin' was good, the folks was fun to get to know and the time was fun. It was also great to see a picture of our Jesus as He entered Jerusalem like a King. This week we are participating together in that Passion Week. We get tomorrow off from reading, but then Tuesday we have Mark 11:12-19 to read, Wed is Mk 11:20-14:11, Thurs is Mk 14:12-15:1, Fri is Mk 15:1-46, Sat is Mk 16:1 and Sun is Mk 16:1-20. It will be neat to see what God teaches us--individually and as a group.

On another thought, I was thinking about our community being GLOBALOCAL. . .and it is coming true. We have folks we know, love and support deployed around the globe. . .and we are doing the same thing in our neighborhoods. It is so neat to reflect on. It will be sad to see the Plaster's go, they have been such a boost. . . Paris will gain some quality folks.

This morning some of the guys who are studying through the Life of Christ together gathered at the Whetstone Park of Roses. We came together to be alone. . .with God. We had been observing how many times Jesus got away. So we decided to follow in His footsteps and get away to be with the Father.

It was a meaningful time for all of us. The setting was painted by God Himself. . .and the time with Him was wonderful. Solitude Sunday was a good thing. I realize all the more why I need to schedule solitude into my life. . .because I did it. Try it. You need it!

I really needed God's mercy this morning as I woke up. The sun was shining (finally) and I really was dragging, but God perked me up. It made me think of this verse--

. . .I have hope: because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lam. 3:22-24

I just got back from Larry T's theological liscensure exam and . . . he PASSED with FLYING COLORS! Congrats to LT! We will await to get the official letter and then throw a big party on his behalf! Stay tuned for details.
